The SFC invite members of HKMACA to attend the workshop held by The Green and Sustainable Finance Cross-Agency Steering Group (CASG) and CDP, regarding the Basic Teach-in on Climate Risks on 23 March.

Workshop content |
A general teach-in session to provide fundamental knowledge of climate risks and terminology. This workshop will also discuss: - how SMEs shall utilize the CASG SME Questionnaire to make and implement transition plan, and communicate their sustainability efforts to lenders, investors and supply chain clients for better access to financing and business opportunities; - how financial institutions shall assist their clients in responding to the SME Questionnaire.

The Green and Sustainable Finance Cross-Agency Steering Group (CASG) has partnered with CDP to launch a SME Questionnaire in December 2022 to aid SMEs communicate their sustainability efforts and raise their sustainability visibility to stakeholders. It also serves as a tool for financial institutions in collecting climate data from the SMEs that they invested and financed, or those they plan to invest and finance, to perform risk assessment and relevant business decisions. Please refer to the announcements below for details.
Kindly note that training materials (including the Questionnaire Guidance and general teach-in deck) have been published in the above press release on 13 March 2023. Please feel free to download and read ahead of the workshops. Industry participants can use the offline versions to collect information from the SME. The CASG will continue to study the feasibility of building a platform for SMEs to submit the questionnaires online and a repository for data collected in the future.
